SETsquared can get your business on the right track

It may sound like a cheesy cliché, but every business pretty much starts from an idea. That’s the easy part, the rest of the journey requires a lot of hard work and dedication – however, there’s an organisation based at Exeter Science Park that can make things a lot easier, and they’re called SETsquared Exeter.

In a nutshell, SETSquared Exeter, and its programme the Business Accelerator, are a community of entrepreneurs who enable founders of start-ups and small businesses to develop their ideas and turn them into a reality.

Working together

SETSquared Exeter’s Business Accelerator is a facilitative partner – part of the South West’s Innovation Ecosystem – and it helps members build connections between the know-how and resources in the University of Exeter, and connecting to sector-specific business support and facilities. The programme runs events and networks that link up innovators, sector experts and researchers, as well as offering support from entrepreneurs who bring their own business experience to the table.

What’s in the programme?

Business Accelerator covers all aspects of your journey, featuring workshops and events that address each stage accordingly. So what’s on the agenda? Well, for starters, there’s lessons on design thinking and innovation skills, plus opportunities for people to present their ideas to a friendly audience and panel of experts. Alongside this, the programme also has classes on grant funding and legal commercial, plus you’ll have access to prototyping technology so you can build scalable products. Finally, the programme ends with a package of bespoke investor readiness support and an annual event where organisations can pitch their ideas to a group of investors.
